Just a few months after clinching the 2014 NASCAR Xfinity Series® championship, Chase Elliott made his much-anticipated debut in the NASCAR Cup Series® at Martinsville Speedway in March of 2015. That day, Elliott started a Cup career that has since led to numerous victories, Most Popular Driver awards, and the coveted NASCAR Cup Series® championship in 2020. Elliott’s illustrious career in the NASCAR Cup Series® got off to a wild start that day at Martinsville. After qualifying 27th in the No. 25 NAPA Chevrolet, Elliott quickly found how tough the competition was at the highest level of NASCAR® racing. He was bounced around through the course of the race, with his Chevy earning several battle scars throughout. While the finish of 38th was not what he nor the Hendrick Motorsports® team had envisioned for the debut, it made the stock car racing world know that Elliott was ready for the NASCAR Cup Series®.
